Friend, I feel so overwhelmed.
Being human comes with a distinct set of challenges that I was not prepared for. I was not taught how to grow into myself. I’m learning as I go, and the skills that I need to thrive still feel like a mystery.
It’s not that I don’t enjoy who I am, or that I’m trying to make myself smaller. It’s that liking who I am and growing into myself takes time, effort, and diligence that I did not expect. I received no warning that stepping into an aligned path also meant actively rejecting all the other ones.
This week’s challenge has been the body. There are so many rituals to perform and keep track of. I’ve been taught that a cycle is inconvenience. I know now that it is sacredness. And every New Moon I must wrestle with what I have been taught, so I can replace it with what I know now.
It goes beyond cleansing. This also means nourishment, movement, softness, and rest. It means devotion, adornment, and care. It means quiet solitude, and communal rejoice.
So, today, I take this overwhelm as an invitation to focus on the next nourishing thing for my body. What can I do to feel 1% better?
Right now, that looks like task-dumping everything unto a sheet of paper and stepping away from my desk for a bit. Give my brain a small reset before coming back to things.
What are you doing to feel 1% better?
Sharing the messy middle,
Jace
